The object of Medicaid Planning for most families is to qualify their loved one for Medicaid benefits without losing their entire life savings. It’s a simple goal, but achieving it can be a complex process.  It is our fundamental belief that you are most likely to accomplish this goal by following a strategic “plan” that was carefully thought out in advance. To that end, we developed a unique 6-step planning process designed to help educate and guide our clients, utilizing proven asset protection strategies with a track record of success.

Steps in our planning process include:

Step 1: Initial Assessment

We will start with an initial assessment to determine if your loved one meets the financial and medical eligibility requirements for Medicaid long-term care services and to establish your planning goals and objectives.

Step 2: Case Work-Up

The next step in our process is a case work-up to collect the financial documentation required for the Medicaid application and to establish an in-depth understanding of your loved one’s unique needs. We will organize that information to enable strategic planning decisions to be made.

Step 3: Case Analysis

Next, we will perform a comprehensive legal analysis of your loved one’s situation to identify the best planning strategies available to achieve your family’s planning goals and objectives.

Step 4: Strategy Meeting

The next step is our process is a meeting to discuss our findings and recommendations. At this meeting, we will review the planning strategies that are available and present our recommendations for your consideration. With our advice and guidance, you will decide on which strategies to pursue. After the meeting, we will issue a detailed follow up letter to summarize your loved one’s situation, review the law, and explain the strategies that you have decided to implemented.

Step 5: Plan Implementation

For your plan to achieve its objectives, the plan strategies must be fully implemented. To assist you, we will prepare a customized Action Plan detailing the specific “actions” that must be completed in order to fully implement the plan strategies. This is vital as the strategies are complex and using them incorrectly could lead to an application being denied or a penalty being imposed. We will provide ongoing supervision, advice, and guidance in all follow-up activities to ensure and verify the completion of all required actions as set forth in your Action Plan.

Step 6: Medicaid Application

The final step in our process involves the preparation and filing of a Medicaid application. We will submit your loved one’s application, along with all supporting documentation, to the Medicaid Office for processing. We will monitor the application process and respond to any requests for additional documentation from the caseworker. We will work diligently to advocate for your loved one until their Medicaid application is approved and reviewed for accuracy.

We are with you every step of the way!
